Supporting a local company not only enhances your adventure but also directly contributes to the local economy. Your visit enables you to trek through the breathtaking mountains while assisting local guides and porters along the way.
The Everest base camp trek with a local company and guide begins with a scenic flight to Lukla. The flight during the peak trekking season operates from Manthali, which is 4 hours driving away from Kathmandu. If your flight is from Kathamndu, it will take only 35 minutes to get to Lukla. The flight will land at Tenzing-Hillary airport, also commonly known as one of the shortest runway airports, but it is still safer to take off and land for the tiny 14-seater aircraft.
The traditional trek to the Everest base camp commences from Lukla right after landing here, with the magical surroundings of the mountains and giant hills, as well as the colorful Sherpa houses. The first day hike from Lukla to Phakding or Monjo is shorter and mainly walking down hills following the major river of the area of Dudkoshi, the final push of the first day trek is a gentle climb which takes about 2o minutes to reach your basic but unique place to start life in the Himalayas.
Second, after a very first morning breakfast in Khumbu area, we will then start the hike to head towards Namche, as this town is also known as a capital of area whereas you can still find some last minute trekking gear, pub, bakery, art gallery, as well as laundry and good hot shower with the speedy level of normal wifi to connect with the world from the himalayas.
Namche Bazzar is the epic center of the Khumbu in everest where we will have one extra day for the acclimatization, this day will allow for us to visit the best view point of Everest view hotel which is surrnded by the most adorable mountains, it is also the highest altitude luxury 5-star level in the world. The view from here is incredible. Suppose you walk a little further from here. In that case, you will reach the most iconic Sherpa village of Khumjung with the best monastery to see the yeti scale, as well as visiting Hillary's contribution to build a school to facilitate better education for the kids of this village is yet another great highlight to see.
Making this acclimatization hike, which we call Climb High Sleep Low, to get your buddy more used to mountain thin before your approach to higher than where you are at. We go to a lower elevation to the same hotel in Namche after this beautiful short hike, and stay overnight, and get closer to another milestone, climbing to Tengbuche village, where you will be immersed in not just the beauty of the closest mountain. Still, you will also purify your soul by visiting the monastery and getting blessed by the monks in this magnificent place.
Trek to Dingbuche, which is a perfect place to have one more acclimatization, where you have easy access to climbing a small mountain to test your limits and get more adaptation or acclimatization to the altitude. During the side hike, we will climb one of the greatest non-technical peaks, and the view from here is surprisingly amazing.
Our Everest base camp trek with a local guide and company will continue after a great acclimatization hike. We will reach Labuche, which is more basic than where we used to spend the nights at the local tea houses on our way up. Spending a night at this place can be even difficult if you have not been properly acclimatized. Acclimatization is key, and it is recommended for you all. Even though you are not a novice hiker, it is always preferable to acclimate to the altitude. As the destination approaches closer now, we will spend a night at Labuche, which has great views of the mountain, basic meals, and accommodation, which is adjustable.
Everest Base Camp day- A memorable ascent day: Today is a day to remember forever — the final push of your Himalayan trekking adventure.
As the altitude increases, every breath feels more precious. The trail becomes more challenging, but trekking with a trusted local guide provides confidence and safety. You’re not here for medals or records; you're here to push your limits, connect with nature, and discover your inner strength. This is more than just a trek — it’s a life-changing experience. A once-in-a-lifetime memory that will stay with you forever.
The hike to Everest base camp from Labuche takes 5- 6 hours via Gokyo, the last place to stay at the local tea house. We will return to Gorkashep to stay here for the night and climb to Kalapathar for sunrise the next day, early in the morning. The final climb bit can be optional for those who are not so keen on seeing the sunrise, but it also depends on the weather. But the views from the top of Kalapathar are simply spectacular. As a local guide in the Himalayas, Nepal, we would recommend pushing you to make this possible if your spirit is still alive. After climbing this beautiful peak of Kalapathar (Blac-Rock), the trail approaches downhill to Pheriche on the same day, we will walk on the same route mostly as we climbed up.
The next day hike, it takes 6-7 hours of walking from Pheriche to Namche Bazzar, we will cross the servral sherpa towns on this day including Pangbuche, Somare, Tengbuche and so on, also the cross several suspension bridges, enjoying the touring moutians on our way back to Namche, spend a night here even we come down, we will have a 3 nights stay at this place but we are flexible if you would like stay different place on the return!
The final day of the Everest base camp trek with a local company or guide, we are retracing back to Lukla, it is one of the longest days of the hike, but mostly is on the down hills, through the most dazzling and peaceful forests of the pines, oaks, and rhododendron trees. A 7-8 hours of beautfl hike will finally bring us back to Lukla where we did start our trek and enjoy our last evening in the mountains with our guides and sherpea team.
We wrap up our incredible Himalayan journey with one of the most scenic flights in the world — soaring above snow-capped peaks with breathtaking aerial views.
As we descend into Kathmandu, a vibrant city filled with ancient temples at every corner, a new chapter begins. From the serenity of the mountains to the cultural richness of the city, this marks the perfect end to an unforgettable trekking experience in Nepal.
