Best Time to Do Everest Base Camp Trek

Choose the best month for your remarkable trekking to Everest! Nonetheless, Nepal has five seasons like many other countries; spring, Summer, Monsoon, Autumn, and Winter. Among all these seasons there is mainly two distinct trekking season for Everest Base Camp or any region treks in Nepal which are spring and autumn,

Spring (Pre-monsoon) – Spring includes Feb, March, April, and May, the weather in this month is largely stable and dry with a moderate climate. This time of the year is fairly perfect for trekking in the Everest region offers a crystal clear view of the mountains and sceneries every day, the Temperature can reach up to 15- 20 degrees Celsius in the daytime and the temperature at the nighttime can drop down to - 8/12 degrees Celsius. The spring welcomes thousands of flora and vegetation that make the trek more beautiful and enjoyable in Nepal.

Autumn (Post monsoon)- Autumn is another great season for trekking on Everest Base Camp, Autumn includes months of September, October, November, and December.  During the autumn, the temperatures should be rated as between 14-20 degrees in the daytime, and nighttime can decrease to -5/10 degrees Celsius, it’s great for the trekking.

NOTE: Occasionally, the internal flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, and Lukla to Kathmandu can be delayed or canceled due to bad weather conditions in the mountain, in this scenario, we suggest for you to try for the next day or take a Helicopter charter (options)- if your holiday is limited to this trek then Helicopter charter would be the option JUSTIN CASE- if weather is not favorable - Helicopter is available and it will be arranged as per your preferences at a little extra cost.

  • Johnny - January 10, 2020

I could not have wished for a better experience in Nepal with the Alpine Ramble team. I met with Dil the moment I arrived and immediately felt relaxed about the mammoth trek I'd signed up to do.

Everything was made so simple - pick up from the airport on arrival, organising a down jacket and sleeping bag, and discussing plans for the coming days. I had the freedom to adjust the trek if needed and fully understand the next 8-9 days in the Everest region.

Due to airport maintenance, there are still a lack of flights direct from Kathmandu to Lukla, but Dil also managed to get me on one, saving a long 4 hour bus ride to another airport. Hero.

My guide, Dik Rei, was absolutely brilliant. I was travelling solo, but he became a real friend to me and supported me so much throughout the trek. Having a guide local to the area meant he could provide so much information, knew people on the way, and was also able to provide the best accommodation. I always had a room to myself, often with the best view of the mountains as well, which made waking up in the cold temperatures that little bit easier!

The trek is very hard but it's all about will power and a positive mental attitude. With that, it can definitely be achieved and the views are worth all the pain to the top! I'm already desperate to return to the mountains.

On my return to Kathmandu, I was once again greeted by Dil and he helped me for the remaining days of my trip with advice, taxis and anything else I needed.

I can't recommend Alpine Ramble highly enough. Absolutely fantastic in all aspects and I will 100% return to do ABC with the team.

My trip with Alpine was absolutely incredible. My guide, Tika was very kind, accommodating and knew everything there was to know about the mountains. More importantly Dil, the organizer was just as accommodating. He picked me up and dropped me off from the airport even before/after my tour was finished. He also checked up on me throughout the trip and made sure I was safe and sound. I can’t recommend Alpine enough!

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, I was greeted by Dil who's hospitality is first class. Our trip up to Everest BC via several towns like Namche, Pangboche, and Thukla were breathtaking. The sights of the trek cannot be taken in unless you make the trip yourself. We had a guide and a Sherpa to help haul us up and back down again. The guide stops and educates you on the views of the mountains, nature, wildlife (watch out for those Yaks), and history of each town. If we didn't have this as part of our trek, we'd be none the wiser - Nepal has more to see when you know what you're looking at.

In short, Dil and his hard working team make sure you're not just getting the experience you paid for but their generosity to provide what we needed was on point. We became like a family and now I'm about to leave Nepal knowing I have new friends even though they are thousands of miles away. Alpine Ramble is, in my experience, the best option to get you up to Everest BC and back down safely. Be smart and choose your best tour operator, I can suggest Alpine Ramble. They offer a premium service at a very competitive price range.

Thank you Dil, thank you Laxman, and our hero Kumar Sherpa. I will be back to conquer again!

Everest Base Camp - a trek I'll never forget.
After my sister went to Everest Base Camp Last year, she warmly recommended Dil's Organisation Alpine Ramble Treks.
Thanks to Dil and my guide Sujal I spent an unforgettable time in the Himalayas. Even though hiking in the cold wasn't easy, I enjoyed every single second on my way to Everest Base Camp.
Dil is a great organisator - he managed everything from picking me up at the airport, to flying to Lukla and going further to my Safari in Chitwan national park I always felt very safe and well occupied. During the trek, he always kept contact with my guide and made sure that I'm feeling good. After finishing the trek successfully, he organized a nice Farewell Dinner for all of us. I enjoyed every moment with Sujal. We had a lot of fun and good talks on the trek. He always made sure that I feel comfortable and safe.
Thank you for spending an unforgettable time in the Himalayas - I would always recommend Alpine Ramble Treks. Try and enjoy!

I did the EBC trek with Alpine a week ago and choosing them was the best choice me and my friends could have made. We prioritised a local agency, chose them by the good reviews and have only compliments to give. They were extremely responsive with all our questions, flexible and agile on the planning and overall an amazing value for money with a great level of service that we greatly appreciated. Our guides during the hike went above their duties and can’t thank enough for being so lucky to have such a pleasant, knowledgeable, encouraging and attentive company. We were a group of 6, which also felt perfect, not too big and not too small. Really thankful for Dil and all his team members who made this one of the best experiences in my life. Would not even consider another company if recommending one. Best company by far.
