  • Johnny - January 10, 2020

I could not have wished for a better experience in Nepal with the Alpine Ramble team. I met with Dil the moment I arrived and immediately felt relaxed about the mammoth trek I'd signed up to do.

Everything was made so simple - pick up from the airport on arrival, organising a down jacket and sleeping bag, and discussing plans for the coming days. I had the freedom to adjust the trek if needed and fully understand the next 8-9 days in the Everest region.

Due to airport maintenance, there are still a lack of flights direct from Kathmandu to Lukla, but Dil also managed to get me on one, saving a long 4 hour bus ride to another airport. Hero.

My guide, Dik Rei, was absolutely brilliant. I was travelling solo, but he became a real friend to me and supported me so much throughout the trek. Having a guide local to the area meant he could provide so much information, knew people on the way, and was also able to provide the best accommodation. I always had a room to myself, often with the best view of the mountains as well, which made waking up in the cold temperatures that little bit easier!

The trek is very hard but it's all about will power and a positive mental attitude. With that, it can definitely be achieved and the views are worth all the pain to the top! I'm already desperate to return to the mountains.

On my return to Kathmandu, I was once again greeted by Dil and he helped me for the remaining days of my trip with advice, taxis and anything else I needed.

I can't recommend Alpine Ramble highly enough. Absolutely fantastic in all aspects and I will 100% return to do ABC with the team.

My trip with Alpine was absolutely incredible. My guide, Tika was very kind, accommodating and knew everything there was to know about the mountains. More importantly Dil, the organizer was just as accommodating. He picked me up and dropped me off from the airport even before/after my tour was finished. He also checked up on me throughout the trip and made sure I was safe and sound. I can’t recommend Alpine enough!

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, I was greeted by Dil who's hospitality is first class. Our trip up to Everest BC via several towns like Namche, Pangboche, and Thukla were breathtaking. The sights of the trek cannot be taken in unless you make the trip yourself. We had a guide and a Sherpa to help haul us up and back down again. The guide stops and educates you on the views of the mountains, nature, wildlife (watch out for those Yaks), and history of each town. If we didn't have this as part of our trek, we'd be none the wiser - Nepal has more to see when you know what you're looking at.

In short, Dil and his hard working team make sure you're not just getting the experience you paid for but their generosity to provide what we needed was on point. We became like a family and now I'm about to leave Nepal knowing I have new friends even though they are thousands of miles away. Alpine Ramble is, in my experience, the best option to get you up to Everest BC and back down safely. Be smart and choose your best tour operator, I can suggest Alpine Ramble. They offer a premium service at a very competitive price range.

Thank you Dil, thank you Laxman, and our hero Kumar Sherpa. I will be back to conquer again!

My brother, sister, and I went on the EBC trek in November of 2019 and truly had a spectacular experience from start to finish. Dil and our guide Krishna were always attentive to our safety, our needs, and interests and customized the trek where possible to enhance our experience. Krishna is an experienced guide with a great sense of humor and his knowledge-base and connections made for an enjoyable, culturally rich, and smooth trek.

If you are thinking about trekking to EBC, you HAVE to go through Alpine Ramble Trekking. I can't imagine any company offering a better experience. Every step of the way, Alpine Ramble went above and beyond all expectations: from the timely and helpful email replies to airport pick-up and drop-off (with welcome leis and parting sashes) to ensuring maximum comfort and health while on the trek, the entire experience was OUTSTANDING. Our trio was lucky enough to have Krishna as a guide--with over 19 years trekking the mountains, he was an expert (and amusing, too!). We felt safe and taken care of the entire journey...and he's a great picture-taker, too. This company takes care of the little things along with the big--when we arrived back in Kathmandu after our successful trek, we were even treated to a generous Nepalese feast as we watched traditional dancing and music. I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about Dil, Krishna, and our "mountain family" of Alpine Ramble. Look no further if you're interested in a Himalayan trek!!!
