Guide Scholarship (HAUGear)

Guide & Porter Scholarship and Sponsorship Initiative: 2026

Alpine Ramble /HAU Gear Guide Scholarship Program

Empowering the People Who Carry the Mountains

At Alpine Ramble Treks, we believe the future of Himalayan tourism lies in education, opportunity, and dignity. The men and women who walk beside our guests—porters and guides—deserve a clear path to growth. This program is designed to uplift local mountain workers through skills, certification, and communication—creating safer treks, stronger communities, and lifelong careers.

Program Sector 1: From Porter to Licensed Guide

Creating Leaders from the Trail
Many porters dream of becoming professional trekking guides but lack access to training and
certification.

This scholarship supports:

· Government-approved trekking guide training
· Guide license & certification fees
· First aid & high-altitude safety training
· Practical leadership & client-care skills

Impact:

✔ Safer treks
✔ Higher income & long-term careers
✔ Pride, confidence, and professional growth
A sponsored porter doesn’t just become a guide—he becomes a role model in his community.

Program Sector 2: English Language Empowerment

Giving Mountain Voices a Global Language
Communication builds trust, safety, and meaningful cultural exchange.

This course provides:

· Practical trekking & hospitality English
· Guest communication & safety language
· Classroom + field-based learning
· Open to both guides and porters

Impact:

✔ Better guest experience
✔ Increased confidence and tips
✔ Stronger cultural connection
English gives mountain workers a voice—and a future beyond the trail.
