The Starting Point of Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The  Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts with a scenic drive or flight to Pokhara and short drive to Nayapul, Nayapul is a starting and ending point of our trek. From Nayapul our journey lead us upstream the Modi Khola (River) valley through the various ethnic and traditional farm ethnic villages and terraced fields with marvelous mountains view of Annapurna range.  As we ascend up to Ghandruk village 1900m offering the fascinating panoramic view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail and many other snowcaps, and Next, we constantly move towards following our usual camps of Chhomrong, Himalaya, and reach at Annapurna Base Camp then retrace for couples of days to Nayapul than take a short drive through the hill to Pokhara.

Detail Itineraries

  • Day 01:Kathmandu – Pokhara 850 m/2788 ft- 7 hrs drive.We take an early morning scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara through the Prithvi highway by tourist bus. Reaching Pokhara we will be walking and exploring around the beautiful tourist town at lakeside areas in Pokhara, overnight at the hotel, Included: Breakfast, and Hotel (B/B)
  • Day 02:Drive Pokhara/ Nayapool 4 hrs & trek to Ghandruk (1940 m) 4/5 Hrs Walk, overnight at lodge.After taking a breakfast we will be driving from our hotel to Nayapul about 1:30 -hour by taxi than our trek will be starting from Nayapul to Ghandruk which will take us around ¾ hours walk to reach Ghandruk village, Ghandruk is one of the the Largest Gurung settlements of Annapurna region where we could explore unspoiled tradition and culture of Gurung people as well as lifestyle, Overnight at Lodge, Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Lodge.   • Day 03:Trek to Chhomrong (2170m) - 5/6 hrs walk, overnight at lodge.Today we start our day after a cup of tea and breakfast in the morning, Firstly, we ascend about an hour gradually up to the Ghandruk top and a steep descent to Kimron Khola (River), and after crossing the suspension bridge then we start climbing up again to Chhomrong village, Chhomrong is another beautiful Gurung village of Annapurna region, it's situated on the top of the hills in the lap of mighty Annapurna south offers an outstanding mountains view of Annapurna south, Machhapuchare (Fishtail) Himchuli and Nilgiri and green valley. We stay overnight here; included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Lodge. (B+L+D)
  • Day 04:Trek to Himalayan Hotel (2920m) - 6/7 hrs walk, overnight at lodge.Today, we have an exciting day to walk through the lush forest over stone steps across Chhomrong Khola and then uphill through the bamboo and rhododendron forest to the village of Bambo and Doban, we take our lunch somewhere between before reaching Himalaya, the trails follows continually upwards Modi river and water streaming section in the jungle area, during the hike we can enjoy the beautiful waterfalls and view of Machhapuchare, as we reach Himalaya, we set up our sleeping bags and down jacket while resting here because it’s quite a cool place, we stay Overnight at Lodge, Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Lodge.   • Day 05:Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) via Machhapuchchhre Base Camp (3720m) 5/6 hrs walk, overnight at lodge.After the breakfast at our lodge, our journey starts towards Machhapuchare base camp than Annapurna base camp walking through the narrow gorge Modi Khola glacier valley past the base of Machhapuchhre which ultimately takes us to Annapurna base camp. Walking in this area we will get a good chance to see Annapurna glacier which is very close to us. Making ascend continually towards we will be able to see a breathtaking view of surrounding panoramic mountains peaks on a backdrop, Reaching Annapurna base camp that we can’t believe it while seeing a 360-degree view of untouchable mountains like Hiunchuli, past Annapurna South to Annapurna I (8,097m/26,566ft) and Khangsar Kang, Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Machhapuchhare.   • Day 06:Trek to Bamboo (2,340 m) 6/7 hrs walk, overnight at lodge.Today we enjoy the striking sunrise view over the Annapurna Himalayas at Annapurna base camp and its spectacular then we take our breakfast, after having a breakfast at our lodge then eventually, we retrace to Bambo following the same trek as we go up to Basecamp while crossing the places of MBC, Deurali, Himalaya and we arrive at Bambo, we spend overnight at Lodge, Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Lodge.   • Day 07:Trek to Jhinu Danda (Hot Spring) (1755m) 5/6 hrs walk, Overnight at lodge.After breakfast at Bambo, we trek to Chomrung following the same trekking path as we followed that while trekking up to Base Camp before. Walk through the jungle while climbing up and down valley crossing the beautiful Gurung village of Sinuw, eventually going down from Sinuwa to River than we across the suspension bridge and start climb up again so after finishing our climbing few steps then we take will take a lunch break at Chhomrong village before we reach Jinu dada, we can observe the sensational Mountains View of Annapurna south and Machhapuchare from our lunch place. After lunch then we constantly keep going on the downhills until the Jhinu dada, Jinu dada is another great place where we can have a refreshed in the natural hot spring and chill out a bit while enjoying the scenery, we stay overnight at Jinu dada, Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Lodge.   • Day 08:Trek to Nayapul (1050m/) 4/ 5 hrs walk and 1 hrs 30 minutes Drive to Pokhara (820m), overnight at hotel or come back to KTM.Today is eventually the last day of our trek in the Annapurna region, it’s a short trek down to Siwai and from Siwai we take a local jeep to Nayapol for 1 hour and then after we will be picked up by our taxi and drive back to Pokhara which will take approximately 1 hour something, as we arrive in Pokhara there are still we have chance to explore or come back to Kathmandu on same day, it totally depends on you, our representative leader will be glad to help you as per your preferences.

In every trip, our guide and porters will be carrying useful and necessary equipment as well as the medical kit, you will be provided by our leaders who have widespread knowledge of first aid training if required. 

Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance is mandatory for all the clients who are going to participate in our Annapurna Base Camp Trek. We highly recommend a compressive travel insurance package to all our clients, the insurance must cover helicopter rescue and evacuation expense at Height altitude for the trekkers to Annapurna base camp, it will be assisted inadequate protection tour to cover personal injury, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, and any kind of illness will be covered. Alpine Ramble Treks kindly ask for any of our travelers to send the reliable travel insurance copy through the email once you book the trip with us.  Your travel insurance must cover against personal accident, medical expenses, emergency repatriation, and personal liability. Having good travel insurance will not only guarantee you peace of mind while you travel with us but also provide you with complete coverage for anything things that may go wrong.

A Typical Day On The Trek

Every morning during the Annapurna Base Camp trek, you will be served a wake-up tea at about 6 am in the morning by our guide then we go to have breakfast with the stunning views.

Breakfast, normally the breakfast serve around 7 am in the morning and walk start by 8 am, the walking will begin after the stretching and warm up before we move on every day, Our daily walk is Normally around 3-4 hours approximately but it depends on your level of physical fitness as well. 

Lunch during the trek is usually held between 12-1 pm with 40-minute duration, the fresh and hygienic lunch will be typically taken from the menu which will serve as fast as possible with the cup of tea or coffee.

Dinner and Overnight camp, Soon we arrive at our camp (Trekking lodge) than we might take some rest before we go to dinner and but our guide and porter will be glad to serve the cup of tea in your room while resting and we alert that for our dinner around 5-7 5 pm, rest of the time you may like to visit the places around or resting in the room.

The termination of the day our trekking guide encourages you to visit the local Sherpa settlements to know more about their culture and lifestyle in the Himalayas region while preparing the meals.

Every day our trekking will be nicely pleasured by stunning sceneries of Himalayas mountain views, taking the captivating photos and video of untouchable mountains and exploring the mountain villages and their lifestyle which can be a delighted moment.

Note: Every day, after the dinner our guide will be briefing about the program the next day.

Physical Condition And Experience Requirements 

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a normal trekking of Annapurna region, it is possible to trek with a basic level of fitness, a good training plan prior to your Annapurna Base Camp trip will make that much more enjoyable. It doesn’t require any climbing skills. We have seen many different ages of travelers are completing this trek like old, young, overweight and underweight and they all are very much appreciated about the journey, as a non-technical trek that does not require crampons, walking poles, oxygen cylinders, ropes, and technical equipment.  But our company will be provided the warm down jackets and sleeping bags if you do not have your own. A normal ABC trek is accessible to most trekkers who have some genus of fitness level and decent drive with a lot of stamina to last two weeks on the cold weather in the mountain.

if you could convenience yourself to take some normal pre-training courses like daily physical exercises, jogging, running, climb the staircase and walking down, cycling, swimming and hitting gym etc that would be greatly helped to accomplish the journey easier.

Accommodation during the Trek

Alpine Ramble Treks will be accommodated in the best hotel like 3 stars categories with the good facilities of WIFIHot Shower, and AC room with the best breakfast services on the selection in Kathmandu and all Accommodations are provided on the twin-sharing basis. The single supplement will be served if you are a single traveler. Accommodations during the trek in the mountains, basically you will be staying at basic trekking lodges where you will have a nice and clean room with the warm blankets, pillows, and comfortable matrices ( matrices size cannot be very thick size but still comfortable). All the facilities during the Annapurna base camp trek are not as same as Kathmandu but still very pleasant and suitable. Do not expect everything is the high level of standards in the mountain. Alpine Ramble Treks would be glad to ensure the attached bathroom in every possible place even on Annapurna region in advance booking, in some places; you have to compromise in sharing a bathroom at high altitudes area because there is no room with attached bath have being built at this elevations area.

NOTE:  High standers Hotels in Kathmandu like 4-5 stars will be provided on your request with the extra cost basis


The Annapurna base camp trek is well-established trekking route of Nepal Himalayas where you can get the numerous trekking lodges along the way in the whole journey and basic meals are available in the trekking lodge on this route. The meals are served by our company as per our inclusive way which is included on this Annapurna Base Camp trek program. Basically, the foods are provided in the same tea house where you stay overnight and there are no outside foods is allowed according to the rule and regulations of the local community but you can simply take the normal snacks, water and drinking stuffs from outside as you wish which are allowed. In order to complete the 5/6 Days base camp, the food is one of the most important factors that you really need it to hike in the Himalayas. The meal in this trek is very convenient and fresh except meat items, usually, we take our breakfast and dinner at the same lodge where we stay and for the lunch, our trekking guide will be chosen every day at the best place possible along the way,

Food during the trek, you will have full options to select your preferred meals items from the menu which are provided by the local tea houses, the Menu offers verities of ethnic cuisines foods as well as western styles meals including Sherpa stew, Fresh vegetable items, Rara noodles, different soups, handmade bread items, rice items, spaghetti, pizza, eggs, potatoes items, Apple pie, Dal Bhat and various of drinking like Black tea, lemon tea, Hot chocolates, Ginger tea, Milk coffee/tea, green tea, black coffee, Lemon ginger tea are available on menu in this trek. The meals are quite surprising on this trek then other trekking routes Like Everest and Langtang regions of Nepal, all are selected items from the menu of the lodge will be fresh, hygienic and tasty. Some places, there are non-veg item meals are available however we do not recommend to take these meat items in the Annapurna region as they are not hygienic and healthy during the trek. The fresh and healthy meals during the trek like  Dal Bhat, Vegetable items and soups items ( Garlic soup, potato soup, onion soup with the food, ) are recommended which are prepared by the local supplement and do not store as a long period of time to serve it.

Note: The water is available everywhere during ABC trek which cost around 1-3 dollars per liter of botels or you can also use the normal tap water for free but water purification pills are required to filter. And we would like you to take a separate proper bottle for hot water reason because cold water cannot be fit every time in the high altitude area and it’s too cold.

Passport and Visa

All clients must have a valid passport with at least 6 months prior validity from return date  Nepalese visas can be obtained from the immigration office or Consulate in your country or arrival in Kathmandu Airport.

Last minute booking

Concerning your desirable interested for any trip with Alpine Ramble Treks, we absolutely accept even your last minute booking. You can book a trip directly through the Online or by calling anytime. But eventually, Last minute booking may not acceptable for Bhutan and Tibet.

Extra personal expenses on trekking

All your foods are included on the package (Lunch, Breakfast, and Dinner with hot drinks), the foods will be served as per package program and besides that cost will be extra if you extend the trip more than the schedule of our package. at last but not list, we would also like to suggest that to our client to carry some snacks like energy bars, snickers, waters, chocolates, cookies and personal belonging materials like passport, battery chargers, etc..

Annapurna base camp trek will be escorted by our well trained and experienced certified guide and porter to make your journey the best and comfortable, our years of experiences guide will assist you in every possible way to make your trip worthy and memorable. We also provide one porter to carry your luggage, one porter for 2 trekkers and basically, your luggage should not surpass heavier than 18 kgs. We never overload our porters; we respect them equally and respect everyone’s work as a human being, porters can be provided for each of you if required. Best Time To Travel

The Annapurna base camp trek can be done throughout the year, but during the dry season (Autumn), which runs from the mid of September to May and pre-monsoon season (Spring) March to May, these months are the absolute time and favorable months for trekking in Nepal Himalayas, offers crystal clear view of fresh snowy mountains with the nice temperature and nights are quite cold normally temperature drops to the negative during the nights.
