More Facts Less Facts

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is an exclusive package that takes trekkers into the unspoiled Manaslu region.  It is considered by many guides to be the best all-around trek in Nepal and is a great alternative to the Annapurna Base Camp Trek to beat the crowds.  Though, it should be noted that it is a bit more difficult than the Annapurna Base Camp Trek.

What is the trail like?

The journey combines two regions: the Manaslu region and Annapurna region.  If you look at a map, you can see that the trail circumnavigates Mount Manaslu, which stands high at an altitude of 8156 meters. The trail exemplifies that wonderful beauty of Nepal’s border with Tibet.  It is rich in biodiversity, natural beauty, and equally fascinating, cultural fascinations.  Our trail begins along the banks of the Budhi Gandaki River, next to rice fields, grazing animals, and welcoming villagers. Moving on, we climb north towards higher altitude. We pass through Gurung villages, though as we go higher and higher, the population is completely ethnically Tibetan, and even a different dialect is spoken. Local people are Tibetan Buddhist influenced and offer brilliant hospitality.

A major highlight of the trip is the Larke Pass (5135 meters), which offers once-in-a-lifetime Himalayan views.  It is a bit of an adventure to get up there, as the pass is usually covered with snow.  The majestic views of the high Himalayas, dense forests down below, and deep gorges make this trek a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This trip is suitable for the adventure lovers or those who are fit and new to trekking but have a strong desire to become acquainted with the mountains.

Best Time to Trek

The best time to do the Manaslu Circuit Trek is between the months of October and December, as they provide the clearest skies.  The next best is March to May.  It is possible to do the trek in other months, but ask us and we’ll give you advice and information regarding those times.
