Detail Itineraries

  • Day 01:Arrival at Kathmandu 1350m/4428ft.We have a scenic flight to Lukla about 35minute. We are now in the land of Sherpa; we meet and introduce our crew who will carry your luggage's entire your trek. The trail goes continue along the Dudh Koshi River, passing through the Sherpa villages of Chhupulung, Ghat and then reaches Phakding. The trail offers some majestic and alluring views mountains and beautiful landscapes where you will see Tibetan words carved in rocks and multi-color Buddhist flags are hanging around the mani walls it makes the trek more exciting, Overnight at lodge.

  • Day 02:Trek to Namche 3,450m/11,315ft- 6hrs.Today we head off from Phakding than after the scenic trail will continue along Dudhkoshi River, we are ascending through rhododendron, giant fir, Himalayan pine and cedar forest viewing first beautiful mountain of Kusum kangaroo and Thamserku. The trail is blooming. We cross the high suspension bridges and then we are while climbing through the dense forest than pass the viewpoint where we can see first Mt. Everest view. As you arrive Namche Bazaar a town with set in an arena with seeing beautiful mountains surrounding the town. In the afternoon go to the market area will be a lively scene to explore, Overnight at lodge.

  • Day 03:Rest and acclimatization.Today we will ascend into the thin air towards twin villages Khumjung and Khunde, this day will be most charming Sherpa villages in Khumbu region. Once you reach at Everest View Lodge this Lodge built by Japanese people, you will be able to see the majestic landscape and it will be more appreciate the spectacular view of the Himalayas including two mountains above eight thousand meters high Mt.Evereat, Lots and othersTaubuche, Cholatse, Thamserku, Kwangde, Khandala and the gorgeous Ama Dablam. Then we will continue descending to Khumjung and we get a good chance to visit the Hillary School in Khumjung, and 500 years old a monastery where "Yeti skull" has put since 1995. While we are descending to Namche after visiting these places here, we see the big yak farm on the way down to Namche, In Namche, we will visit the Sherpa Museum and traditional custom of Sherpa as well as the mountain photo gallery, Overnight at lodge.

  • Day 04:Trek to Dole 4200m/13755ft- 4hrs walk. After having a rest day at Namche bazzar our easy ascent to Dole provides us an excellent view on the way, walking through the Sherpa villages seeing awesome mountains and encounter the wild flora and fauna, Danfe – the national bird of Nepal, Himalaya's Tahr, Deer, Imepeyan to Kyanjunhgma. Turning left, we ascend to Mong La with views of Tyangboche monastery and Mt. Ama Dablam. We descending through the pine and giant fir forest we arrive at Phorte and climbing up takes you to Dole, overnight at lodge.

  • Day 05:Trek to Machhermo 4470m/14660ft- 4hrs walk. Heading up from Dole the trail continues gradually up an infertile landscape and Yak grazed land passing through the tea shop and guesthouse on the way, where we get a spectacular view above 8000 meters high above sea level of Mt. Cho Oyu8200m/26895ft and numerous of other snow-capped mountains surrounding us. We walk along the Dudh Kosi River for while and the trail brings you to Machhermo. This town is small and peaceful with amazing scenery, where are 6 seasonal lodges and one Hospital for traveler's, you can get free information about acute mountain sickness, overnight at lodge.

  • Day 06:Trek to Gokyo 4790m/15710ft- 4/5 hrs. The trails will continue through the Sherpa villages and the short climb up to the ridge, then the path goes on the level for short climbing up stone-stair along the river to terminate of Nagzumba glacier moraine. Here we climb this, as we crossing the bridge then we will see the first lake in Everest Region, walking through a trail, after a few minutes’ walks we will another beautiful second lake for us. Then finally reach are here at Gokyo lake which is located at 4750 meters above sea level. This lake is third lake called Gokyo Lake, largest and beautiful lake among other lakes. The settlement is next to the lake after lunch we walk around the Gokyo, Overnight at lodge.

  • Day 07:Summit of Gokyo Peak 5360m/17580ft- trek to Machermo 5/6hrs walk.Today is the exciting day of our whole trek. We start our trek in early morning passing the streams then climb steep up 2 hrs to reach up to a summit of Gokyo Peak. This is a strenuous and amazing climb. While climbing up on ridge the trail provides superb excellent views of the Himalayas and largest Nagzumba glacier which is the largest Glacier in the world, From this top we can see an incredible sunrise view over the Majestic Khumbu Himalaya's including 4 of the 8000m, such as giant Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Lhotse and numerous other peaks with enormous Gokyo valley. We take photographs than we retrace to Gokyo. Have breakfast then retracing to Dole, overnight at lodge.

  • Day 08:Machermo to Namche 3,450/11,315 ft 6hrs. Our trail leads descending passes through the beautiful Sherpa villages again and we get the bank into Dudkosi River then after crossing the river trail goes in the forest via Dingboche after that climbing up to Tengboche. Then descending through the rhododendron forest cross the river continues to walk up to Kanjuma then easy walk with great views of Ama Table to Namche Bazaar, Overnight at lodge.

  • Day 09:Namche to Lukla 2,850m/9,350ft- 6hrs. We go through Namche village then descend in a forest to Kors sale. The trek continues goes along the Dudh Koshi River, passing the small village on the way then to the small mountain airstrip at Lukla. Overnight at lodge.

  • Day 10:Fly Lukla/Kathmandu 35minutes.Today we have the scenic flight back to Kathmandu, Upon arrival at Kathmandu. And drive to the hotel. Then take a rest or shopping for family and friends. We have a farewell dinner at Thamel, overnight at hotel.

Health and Fitness requirements 

Gokyo Lake Trek is an exciting and spectacular moderate trekking destination in the world. It’s an exceptional trekking route for travelers who wish to enjoy and explore the Himalayas and beautiful landscape on this planet. This trek basically starts from low land to high land as you are hiking in these areas than you have to be fit both of physically and mentality by yourself. Every day trek prefers about 4/5 hours appromax. As you hiking up to the high altitude than you have to prepare by physically and mentality to be succeed the trip, our provision is making your trip reliable and remarkable without any problems in every step to step with your wealth health. Our first priority is your safety and security entire the trip. you Should convenience yourself to take some pre-training course of the trek that would be easy, considering some physical exercise like jogging, running, climb stair-case, cycling, swimming and hitting gym etc.

Accommodation during the Trek

Accommodation in Kathmandu, you would be staying at the best hotel basically 3-4 stars, in twin-sharing basis. But Accommodations in trekking is very basic where you will get the room with pillows, warm and nice blanket, attach bath room if it’s available with comfortable beds during the 12 days Everest base camp trek, if you are single you get single bedroom as well with hygienic food, The Menu for food and accommodation have fixed by local management community.

Passport and Visa

All clients must have a valid passport with at least 6 months prior validity from return date Nepalese visas can be obtained from the immigration office or Consulate in your country or arrival in Kathmandu Airport.

Last minute booking

Concerning your desirable interested for any trip with us we even accept the last minute booking. You can book a trip directly by calling or sending a message anytime. But eventually, Last minute booking may not acceptable for Bhutan and Tibet trip.

Meals and Drinking Water

The Gokyo Lake trek route has numerous of tea houses along the way and every single tea houses has the menu system with different ethnic cuisines foods as well as western meals on the Menu; you could pick up any kinds of a meal as you like to have during the trek, we would highly recommended the vegetable items instead of Meat because meat in the mountain can be effected some time because it may not used to it for the new travelers in this region. But some places provide you typical Nepali meals which are different types of international meals. These are prepared by the local supplement. Every tourist Lodge has well-trained cook basically attention for clean, hygienic, fresh and nice testy foods. The variety of drinks and every lodge have safe drinking water or minerals bottles of water you could buy. If you buy water purification tablet from Kathmandu you can take water from the tap and purify by yourself this will be cheaper and help to control the plastic pollution as well. The water you could buy everywhere in Everest region at reasonable price but price would go high when you go to high altitude areas. We also recommend you to buy boiled water instead of cold which keeps your body warm.

Extra personal expenses on trekking

During the trek all the food are included (Lunch, Breakfast and Dinner with hot drinks) which will be provide by the company, behind the schedule of our package the meals and accommodations in Kathmandu will have to be arranged by yourself.

Possible Flight Delay in Kathmandu and Lukla: 

Generally, Kathmandu-Lukla – Kathmandu flights have been canceled due to the changing in unpredictable weather conditions around the mountains. In such conditions, we Alpine Ramble Treks kindly request all the travelers to make a plan while putting at least 2/3 possibility spree days for the Gokyo Lake trek. In this situation we would have been arranging the helicopter charter rescue so that can be as an option to catch your international flight on time and cost would be paid extra, you can claim lthat ater to your travel insurance once you get back to home, the company will be glad to provide the require documents such as like cancellation of domestic flights and receipt of Helicopter to show up the prove to travel insurance company. (Travel insurance is mandatory before joining Gokyo Lake Trek)

Best Season

Best season forGokyo Lake Trek is spring (Marc to May) and autumn (September to November) these months are the best months for the Everest base camp trek. The temperature is moderate in these seasons and we guarantee amazing view and breathtaking scenery throughout the trek. If you wish to avoid crowds this trip during in winter (Dec., Jan. and Feb.) could also be the best options.
