Experience all the thrills of the 7-Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek in 2024 and 2025.

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek, or ABC Trek, is one of Nepal’s most popular treks— undoubtedly one of the finest. There are plenty of reasons to choose this trek over its many competitors scattered across the length and breadth of the Himalayas: its relative accessibility from Kathmandu, its unique combination of authentic cultural encounters and spectacular alpine scenery, its comfortable teahouse-style accommodations, and its reasonably gentle elevation changes.

But our seven-day Annapurna Base Camp trekking itinerary offers one perk that few other treks in Nepal can match: the opportunity to visit and return from the awe-inspiring Annapurna Sanctuary in just a week.

At Alpine Ramble Treks, we’ve leveraged our considerable experience in the trekking industry to make this expedition possible. We’ve arranged the most efficient transportation, acquired the most reliable gear, and trained the best guides in the business to bring you safely along each step of the mighty Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Read on to discover more about this exciting travel opportunity.

These alpine communities have long sheltered beneath the towering mountains of Gangapurna, Machapuchare, Himalchuli, and the mighty Annapurna massif. This combination of ravishing natural beauty and welcoming Himalayan people makes the Annapurna Base Camp Trek unforgettable.

These are the best times of year to enjoy the perfect combination of comfortable temperatures and clear mountain views. But you can hike in the Annapurnas at any time of year, and the snow-laden trails of winter are just as mysterious and evocative as the mist-shrouded hillsides of summer.

Whenever you choose to travel, rest assured that Alpine Ramble Treks will create a trekking adventure surpassing even your highest expectations.

Itinerary

On the first day of your epic trek in Nepal, we’ll depart from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, following the Prithvi Highway all the way to Pokhara. Depending on your preference, we can travel by tourist bus or private Jeep—and you can even opt to fly between the two cities, at an added expense. If you prefer to travel by road, the route should take us approximately seven hours to complete. But this is no boring workday commute: our drive will bring us through some of Nepal’s most scenic and alluring rural landscapes. You’ll see how the terrain of the Kathmandu Valley gradually changes, rising to terraced farms of barley dotted here and there with traditional homesteads and finally giving way to the sheer alpine heights of the mighty Himalayas. When we arrive in Pokhara, we’ll get checked into our hotel and spend the rest of the evening exploring this charming lakeside city.

  • Driving time: 6-7 hrs approx
  • Meals: Breakfast (Included)
  • Maximum Elevation: 850m/2788ft

It’s time to start your Annapurna Base Camp Trek. We’ll meet up with our trekking team this morning, including the porters and guide who will lead you unerringly into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary. With our team assembled, we’ll make the short drive to nearby Nayapul before shouldering our backpacks and hitting the trail. Today’s hike makes for a gentle introduction to the rigors of trekking in Nepal, and the scenery here is splendid. We’ll cross gravity-defying suspension bridges, stand in the spray of roaring waterfalls, and marvel at the impossible heights of the Himalayas far above our heads. The frozen summits of Hiunchuli, Machapuchare, and Annapurna South will be especially prominent during today’s trek. After about four or five hours of walking, we’ll find ourselves arriving in the village of Ghandruk. We’ll get checked in at our guesthouse and enjoy a hot meal before turning in and spending our first night in the high Himalayas of Nepal.

  • Accommodation Type: Trekking Lodge (Tea House)
  • Hiking Time: 4-5 hrs approx
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner (Included)

Trekking in Nepal is all about enjoying superb views of the tallest mountains in the world, and our short Annapurna Base Camp Trek is no exception. As we depart from Ghandruk, we’ll make a brief descent to the Kimrung Khola River before beginning to climb in the direction of Chhomrong—and it’s here that we’ll earn a wonderful look at the soaring mountains known as Gangapurna, Machapuchare, and Dhaulagiri. These monumental summits will continue to tower over the trail during the course of today’s hike, peeking out from behind row upon row of forest-clad hillsides. While today’s continuous ascent may be challenging, we’ll take plenty of breaks to drink water and savor the marvelous natural scenery of the Himalayas. After about five or six hours of trekking, we’ll pull into Chhomrong just in time for a hearty meal at our teahouse or trekking lodge. Before getting some rest, you’ll definitely want to catch the unforgettable spectacle of the sun setting over the gilded peaks of the Annapurnas.

We’ll use a suspension bridge to cross the Chhomrong Khola River, which will bring us to a steep staircase ascending through a lush rhododendron forest on the way to Sinuwa. When we reach the top, we’ll enjoy a spectacular mountain panorama that just might be the best viewpoint on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek so far. Moving on, we’ll pass through the little mountainside villages of Bamboo and Dovan before arriving at the Himalayan Hotel after about five or six hours of hiking. Also known simply as Himalaya, this community is little more than a small collection of guesthouses and restaurants—but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in hospitality. You’ll fall in love with the friendly people here, and our guesthouse accommodations tonight will make you feel right at home.

Are you ready for the final push into the Annapurna Sanctuary? We’ve still got some distance to cover, but today is sure to represent the highlight of your trek in Nepal. We’ll be visiting two separate base camps today: Machapuchare Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp. Our hike begins by following the glacial moraine as it approaches the Sanctuary. We’ll check in with the locals to make sure there’s no risk of an avalanche before continuing on to Machapuchare Base Camp, where we’ll enjoy up-close-and-personal encounters with the mighty faces of Annapurna I, Annapurna III, and Annapurna South. While this is an incredible sight, our trek has even more wonders in store for us today.

Moving on from Machapuchare Base Camp, we’ll trek for another few hours to reach Annapurna Base Camp itself. When you come face-to-face with the colossal Annapurna massif, you’ll quickly see how the mountain earned its reputation as a dangerous climb. The summit of this skyscraping Himalayan peak reaches to an impressive 8,091 meters in elevation. We’ll content ourselves with taking plenty of photos from the safety of the ground here, enjoying the adrenaline rush of accomplishing the goal of our trek in Nepal: reaching Annapurna Base Camp. We’ll spend the night at one of the lodges here at base camp.

  • Accommodation Type: Trekking Lodge (Tea House)
  • Hiking Time: 5-6 hrs approx
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner (Included)
  • Maximum Elevation: 4130m/13545ft (ABC)

Make sure to get up early this morning—there’s no more sublime sight on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek than what you’ll witness this morning. With a warm cup of tea in hand, you’ll be privileged to watch the sun break across the glorious natural scenery of the Annapurna Sanctuary. After breakfast, we’ll turn our backs to the mighty Annapurnas and begin to retrace our steps, trekking downhill amongst the extraordinary surroundings of the Himalayan mountains. While the path is always easier on the descent, we’ll set a slow and steady pace to benefit our knees on the many steep stairs we’ll be taking. After about five or six hours, we’ll reach the community of Bamboo and pick out the best available guesthouse for tonight’s accommodations. We can also trek a little further to reach Sinuwa, which offers slightly better mountain views—after all, this is your last full day of trekking in Nepal. Whatever your preference, you’ll be assured of a hot meal and a good night’s rest after today’s long hike.

From start to finish, this experience was incredible! The website was easy to understand and informative. Dil who managed the logistics prior to the trek was incredibly helpful, providing all the necessary information and answering any and all questions (while I lived in Nepal and didn’t have time to plan a trek!). My lovely guide, Arpan, went above and beyond to make this experience fantastic! I had a cold the first few days, and he was always caring for my well-being, and looking out for me. He made the experience very enjoyable, informative, comfortable, and fun! I would highly recommend him as a guide. We had such a wonderful view of the mountains, and I absolutely will do another trek with Alpine Ramble in the future!

I totally recommend Alpine Ramble as your guided trekking company wherever in Nepal. Since the beginning Dil was always ready to answer all my questions, reply fastly to my emails and help me to choose the best itinerary. He was always very open to any suggestions and changes, and easy to comunicate with, which i appreciated a lot. They picked me up in the Airport and were very welcoming since i arrived in Nepal.
I did the ABC trek for one week with Amar, and it was unforgettable! Amar was very caring, respectful, and always gave his best to make me feel confortable and motivated through all the week. Even when i got an injury in the last days, he was super patient and helpful :) Thank you Amar, it wouldnt have been the same without you!
During the week i also had the opportunity to spend almost 3 days with Arpen, who was also very helpful, funny and a great guide! What a fun and amazing time we had alltogether on the way to the Base Camp!
For sure i would book again with Alpine. Thank you Dil, Amar and Arpen! It was a blast!

What a journey! The trek and everything about it far surpassed my expectations, great scenery, great people, great memories and feelings that will stay with me forever. This is all thanks to my excellent guide Aysush and Trip organiser Dil. Thanks you both so much for making my experience the best possible.

Aysush you were great, you showed me the way and looked after me making sure I was fed, watered and showered (sometimes solar powered 😉) and above all else getting the most from my incredible journey. I remember being stuck at Macchaputre after a hail storm/blizzard and you were excellent as always with making me feel comfortable and coming up with a new plan to trek at 430 the next day to ABC once the weather cleared. This was the most exciting days ever, trekking into the sunrise and the truly awesome scenery, I really could not believe it!
You also rescued me from Pokhara airport when I decided to stay one more night (but that is another story, carpe diem 😉)

I've never done an extended an trek or been to Nepal before. So if you're thinking of taking the plunge and up for a rewarding challenge then I massively recommend Alpine Ramble to take you on an unforgettable trip!

Finally You will attend a trek with a professional and experience guide and porter, if need! I've done my Trek to ABC and I am extremely happy for all - company and care I've got from my Team.I had pleasure to trek with one of most experienced Guides - Dilman and Saugat. Their knowledge and situations awarnes are pricles. Dilman it's ready to advise in any point of time and share his knowledge. Saugat was extremely helpful and took care of me in a way I don't need to worry about anything. He was always ready whenever I need something. It made my trek very comfortable experience. We also trek with Addit, as he was helping with carrying stuff (strong and fast I would say :). Apart of experience and professionalism, they just grow up in place we trek and they know every corner. And most important is..we had a lot of fun :) on the way! Guys create a great athmosphere. We became a friend's and trek was a pleasure (even if we get wet in the rain hehe). We did ABC trek In 7 days, beginning at 29.10. Everything was perfect from the beginning to the end. We met Dil & Sujal (Guide) at our hotel day before travelling from Kathmandu to Pokhara, and we got detailed information about our trek.

Sujal and Prasanta (Porter) were such a nice and kind, always smiling and asking is everything ok. They organised everything so well and made things easy for us.

I can definitely recommend Alpine Ramble Treks for everyone!
