Overview

The Trisuli is Nepal’s best river for day trips. Located centrally between Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara, it’s the perfect way to break up a long bus journey to your next destination. Why sit on a bus for 5 hours when you can raft half of it? It’s one of the most popular day trips in Nepal and is great for everyone, all year round.

The Trisuli is normally run as a day trip by ART. This itinerary is what a typical day trip with GRG’s Adventure Kayaking would look like.

The scenery of the river Trishuli includes small gorges and a glimpse of the cable car leading to the famous Hindu Temple Manakamana.
For most of the year, the rapids encountered on the Trisuli are straightforward, easily negotiated, and well-spaced out. Trisuli River is an excellent river for those looking for a short river trip, without the challenge of huge rapids, but with some really exciting rapids, beautiful scenery, and a relatively peaceful environment. During the monsoon months, the intensity of the rapids increases and attracts a radically different set of rafters. But there are sections for rafting during the monsoon for those who are looking for a simply exciting trip!

You will depart from Kathmandu at 6.30 am (alternative transportation arrangements can be made from Pokhara or Chitwan if necessary). It’s a quick, 3-hour drive to our put-in point. Depending on the time of year, will determine where we start from (for example, in the monsoon, we will run double the distance than in other months).

If you decide to stay overnight, we will show you around our camp, get you a nice cup of tea and show you to your tent. Dinner will be served at 7 pm and you’ll enjoy the evening, along with other guests and our guides, under the stars and with a great campfire.

The following morning, you can either catch the bus for your onward journey, enjoy another day of rafting, try our canyoning, kayaking, or go on a day hike in our local villages.

Note: If you would like to travel faster on your won avoiding the crowds then you can hire the private car, it costs only $170 for a round trip for a private car
