This is a really important day for the expedition. We wake up around 2 in the morning for breakfast. It’s going to be very cold in the beginning but soon we warm up as we continue up the glacier and onto a peculiar ridge. The first rays of the sun hit the big peaks in an amazing red glow. The route is still non-technical as we slowly climb higher into the ever-thinning air. The slope steepens for a section behind the ridge and the summit comes back into view. At the foot of the final steep summit cone, we may use a fixed rope if the climbing leader believes it’s required. The summit is only a few meters away. From the summit, we take in spectacular views of the mighty Himalayas including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Cho-Oyu (8,210m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Kangchenjunga (8,586m), Nuptse (7,855m), Chamlang (7,319m), Baruntse (7,129m) and others. Later, we retrace our steps back to the high camp where we rest for a while before descending to Khare. Overnight in Khare.

However, a single private room will be provided during the trek without any extra cost for solo female travelers.

NOTE: Kathmandu has a large range of luxury stars hotel offers to select for your stay. However, we will also be pleased to be part of this help to make the reservations for the four and 5-star hotel booking as well on request.

Choose the best month for your remarkable trekking experience of a lifetime! Nepal has five seasons like many other countries; spring, Summer, Monsoon, Autumn, and Winter. Among all these seasons, there are mainly two distinct trekking seasons for Island Peak Climb or any region treks in Nepal, which are autumn and spring.

Spring (Pre-monsoon) – Spring includes Feb, March, April, and May, the weather in this month is largely stable and dry with a moderate climate. This time of the year is fairly perfect for trekking in the Everest region offers a crystal clear view of the mountains and sceneries every day, the Temperature can reach up to 15- 20 degrees Celsius in the daytime and the temperature the nighttime can drop down to - 8/12 degrees Celsius. The spring welcomes thousands of flora and vegetation that make the trek more beautiful and enjoyable in Nepal.

Autumn (Post monsoon)- Autumn is another great season for trekking on Island Pe; Autumn includes the months of September, October, November, and December. During the autumn, the temperatures should be rated as between 14-20 degrees in the daytime, and nighttime can decrease to -5/10 degrees Celsius, which is great for trekking.

Travel Insurance for Mera Peak Summit

For safety reasons, Travel insurance is mandatory for trekkers participating in any trek and tour programs on the mountains. Getting travel insurance, especially while traveling in the mountain areas, is like security, which you can rely on and enjoy your trip without any worries. We highly recommend getting good compressive travel insurance that covers things like emergency helicopter rescue, and medical evacuation expenses. It will be an assisted protection tour to cover personal injury, injury, and repatriation expenses, and any kind of illness will be covered. Having good travel insurance will not only guarantee you peace of mind while you travel with us but also provide you with complete coverage for anything that may go wrong.

    Drinking-Water

Everest region has many shops or even tea houses where you will easily find a regular bottle of mineral water to buy, also we have plenty of water sources along the way; refilling the water from the random taps or water sources is potable, but it will be fine to drink with a Lifestraw or using the water purification pills. Remember, water is one of the most important factors while trekking at such a high altitude, and it might be replaced as oxygen – at least 2-4 L of water per day is recommended.

    Safety and Satisfactions

SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY- NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE SAFETY AND HEALTH OF OUR CLIENTS AND EMPLOYEES.

On this trek, you will be accompanied by one of the experienced and friendly trekking guides/ Sherpa who originally come from the mountain (same region) of Nepal; the guide will be carrying all the essential equipment with a first aid kit for safety reasons; we would like you to take some of your own personal mediation on this trek. However, in emergency cases, if our clients have any trouble with mountain sickness or any unforeseen circumstances, then we will always be standing by to send a rescue helicopter to bring our clients back to lower places or Kathmandu.

I and 5 of friends did climb Mera peak at the beginning of May 2019, it was great climbing. We were a little doubt about our stamina before arriving in Nepal but once we were in Nepal we were confident that could do it, our guides Dilman and Mingmar Sherpa came to meet us at the airport and took us to the hotel where we were explaining much about our climbing by our guides. We were so happy that Dil also came to meet us and help us to organize everything for this trip. From Lukla to Mera peak base camp hike was mind-blowing, the views were amazing and the people of this region are very welcoming. the foods and accommodations are well managed, we had very good foods and hotel were very convenient throughout the trek and we stayed in tents for 2 days at Mera base camp and that was our first experience sleeping in tents, so it was the best experience, climbing the Mera Peak was tough and we changing but the ends we did it. It couldn't succeed with the great help of our guides, they were just simply outstanding, what teamwork, they managed to bring us from the base camp every early morning and we made it to the summit in good timing, they are the best, they know everything. We really wish to learn so many things from them when we come back for our next trip. Thanks to the team of Alpine Ramble for making our trip the best of the best, we will miss you! We highly recommend this company to anyone,

My Mera peak expedition with Alpine Ramble was amazing. I am so grateful to the team and their help to make my goal come true at least once in a lifetime. My guide Tilak Shrestha is the best, he has shared amazing experiences of trekking and climbing and telling the story about the people in the mountains. He is a very cheerful person and always ready to help. His hard work is truly inspiring. I learned so much more about the culture of the locals, he served me the best foods and accommodated me at the best tea houses during my trek in the lower area, and set up a nice tent where he used to cook for his climbing fellows.

I want to thank Dil for giving me the best guide like Tilak, I will surely join them again for my next trip to Nepal. I am in love with Nepal. It is an amazing country with so much love and beauty! If you would like to climb this peak or do any treks in Nepal then no look further than Alpine Ramble, this company is the best.

      Mera Peak

After tremendous search on the internet to select a good operator with a reasonable price to ascent Mera Peak, Alpine Ramble Treks was the choice.

Even though I was unable to make it to the summit due to the snow condition, fresh/unconsolidated snow up to the chest. All people I met did not make it above 6200m. I choose a very bad time to do this ascent which was in Sep 2019. We did not see the sun for more than 6 hours in 10 days, this tells you how bad the weather was. Many people stranded in Lukla for more than 6 days (no flights due to the weather condition)

Alpine Ramble did an excellent job in meeting my last minute demands for this trek. The owner of the company was kind enough to meet me at the beginning and dropped me off the airport after. The guide and the porter (Tilak and Suman) were more than firends, actually brothers. I really enjoyed this adventure even though I did not make it to the summit. Alpine Ramble was amazing in booking the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and the other way around. I'm amazed that there was no major delay. I was afraid that I would lose days waiting for a flight to take me to Lukla but I give a credit to Alpine Ramble in their excellent effort booking with the right airline at the right time.

I would definitly choose Alpine Ramble for my next visit to Nepal (maybe Island Peak this time) and I would recommend it to anyone.

The only drawback I noticed in my trip is the hotel booked for me. I think there are better options at same level.

I have visited Nepal several times for trekking but I have never climbed a mountain like this before, climbing the Mera peak (6415m) was not a joke but it was not that tough as I expected, since I have trekked a lot in the Himalayas before the climb helped me a lot. I did this climbing with Alpine Ramble Treks and I must they are one of the best climbing companies in Nepal with years of climbing experienced and history. The guide I got from this company was amazing, very helpful and dedication to his work. I enjoyed the trip entirely. I would love to climb the Island peak next year with the same company or team. No doubt they are the best organizer in NEPAL!
