Acute mountain sickness is caused by reduced air pressure and lowers oxygen levels at high altitude. If you feel dizzy, suffer palpitations or severe headaches, and return immediately to a lower altitude. Do not take altitude sickness lightly. It can be fatal! Please familiarize yourself with the symptoms of altitude sickness before your trek.
